How to get better at F1 2020
Now, for this you won’t really need anything this works on any platform but if you are using a keyboard and mouse stop yourself right now and go buy a controller. Playing driving games on a keyboard is a pretty big no no, especially on racing games. Or if you want to, you could go one step further and invest in a steering wheel.
Tip #1
Make sure to use a lean fuel mix on corners. Quite a lot of the time changing fuel mixes is overlooked by beginners to the game but at times this small thing can be crucial. Changing to a lean fuel mix can decrease tyre wear and save fuel which are two very important things in the game.
Tip #2
Race starts are a crucial part in F1 they are crucial to a good finish and to get a good race start you will need to do a few things. I personally recommend using manual starts. there isn’t too much difference but it gives you even more control. Secondly and most importantly make sure to put the overtake button on when starting. The overtake button greatly increases your acceleration although it uses more energy from your ERS it is definitely worth the sacrifice make sure to not use this all race maybe only use it until the first corner once you’ve gained a few positions.
Tip #3
Make sure to be careful at the first corner of the race, this is crucial as the first corner has the highest risk of collision mainly in online but also in single player. Especially in online as unfortunately there will be players that will purposely collide into other players. The first corner is where the race leaders will break away from the pack so later corners in the circuit shouldn’t be too populated.
Tip #4
Braking is also very important to F1. To get quicker in races make sure to brake and turn smoothly on corners this will also keep your tyre temperature lower. If you brake too harshly your car will be slower around corners and your tyre temperature will increase greatly. Doing this will be a lot easier on a steering wheel but for experienced controller players this shouldn’t be too much more difficult.
